My new toy arrives!
A beautiful Solent Blue XJR auto with Magnolia upholstery piped in Blue. It comes completely full of spares and seems to be in a fairly decent condition, considering its been sat in my best friends garden for about 2 years!! The interior has been partially dismantled for a air conditioning refit but all the bits are there to put it back together. Haven’t had a look underneath yet but hopefully its ok. The sunroof and the have had it and there are a couple of other small rust bubbles but so far nothing major.

Did I forget to mention it was my wedding car 10 years ago!

Well the rust bug seems to have taken hold underneath and had a feast on the metal. Lots of crispy bits that I didn’t want to push too hard with a screwdriver. Inner and outer sills have virtually gone! Gutted as I really wanted it back on the road (and so did the wife!).
Luckily I’ve managed to get another one! An ebay bargain, its a 1993 manual Westminster Blue XJR with Saville Grey upholstery piped in Blue. Not as good a colour scheme as the previous XJR but I can live with it for the sake of having a manual. These are a rare car, and going to be even rarer the speed these XJR’s are disappearing off our roads.

My old wedding car will be broken and the money from the sales will go toward the work that needs doing on the manual. Typical 93 car, the inner wings and bulkhead have rotted.
